Nymphaea ‘Super Nova’ lives up to its name—this breathtaking cultivar is one of the largest winter-hardy lilies available today. Created by Pornchai Petchanan of Thailand, a highly acclaimed hybridizer, Super Nova is a true centerpiece plant that demands attention with its size and bold presence.
This massive beauty thrives in large or natural ponds, especially dirt-bottom ponds, where it has space to reach its full potential. Its lush foliage and abundant blooms create a dramatic, unforgettable display throughout the summer.

Growth Habit: Very large, free flowering
Spread: 6 to 8 feet – ideal for large ponds
Recommended Pot Size: 36-inch long rectangular container or dirt-bottom pond
Planting Depth: 18 to 42 inches from soil to water surface
Sun Requirements: Full sun (minimum 6 hours/day)
USDA Zones: 5–10 (hardy)
Note:
Due to its size and vigorous growth, Super Nova is not suitable for small water gardens or containers. It’s a showstopper best suited for large-scale plantings.
