Nymphaea ‘Siam Purple 1’
2011 IWGS Best Overall Water Lily – A Rare, Elegant Treasure
Hybridized by renowned Thai breeder Pairat Songpanich, ‘Siam Purple 1’ is a distinguished and increasingly rare inter-subgeneric (ISG) lily. Winner of the 2011 IWGS Best Overall Water Lily, this cultivar showcases two-toned blooms with white petals that elegantly fade into soft purple tips — a truly unique floral display.
Unlike its more floriferous sister ‘Siam Purple 2’, this variety is a shy bloomer, but when it does flower, the results are nothing short of exquisite. Due to its slow propagation, ‘Siam Purple 1’ is vanishing from the trade, making it a must-have for serious collectors and enthusiasts.
